Hello dear friends,
Mercury retrograde begins this weekend, and many of us feel it as a little extra scatter in the days: a misplaced key, a message that needs rereading, a plan that shifts. Instead of bracing for it, I like to treat it as a quiet invitation to slow down. Here is a simple weekend routine you can try. It only needs a cup of tea, a notebook and about twenty minutes.
Pause
Choose a calm spot, sit comfortably and set your phone aside. Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Breathe in slowly for a count of four, then breathe out for a count of six. Do this five times, letting your shoulders drop a little more with each breath.
Then say softly, “I am allowed to go slowly.” Notice how your body answers. There is nothing to fix. Simply notice.
Review
Open your notebook and write the date. Then gently look back over your week or month with these three questions:
- What am I still carrying that I could set down?
- What did I begin that wants a second look?
- Who or what would I like to reconnect with?
Write whatever comes, even if it is only a few words. There are no wrong answers. Retrograde time is wonderful for revisiting old drafts, old ideas and old friendships, so if a name or a project comes to mind, honor it.
Be Kind
Now turn that same gentleness toward yourself. Write one sentence of kindness, the way you would speak to a dear friend. It might be, “You did the best you could with what you knew.” Read it out loud once.
Finish with one more round of the breath: in for four, out for six. As you exhale, imagine soft golden light settling around you, and ask your angels to walk beside you through the days ahead. Then choose one small, kind thing to do before the weekend ends. Perhaps you tidy one drawer, send a loving note, or step outside and look at the sky.

Clear quartz is a lovely companion for a calm, clear mind this season. Front and back of the card.
A Few Weekend Reminders
If something goes sideways in the coming weeks, take a breath before you react. Double-check dates and messages, give yourself extra time, and let “good enough” be enough. Mercury retrograde passes, and the quiet reflection it brings can be a real gift.
Next time, I will share another gentle practice to help you stay grounded and open-hearted through this season. I hope you will join me.
